Proactive planning for peace of mind

Why Being Prepared Matters

Unfortunately, there is no one single approach that can be taken to mitigate potential impacts to life and business. Rather, a series of situations – those most likely to occur – are considered as part of the planning process.

At SHA, we evaluate your home or business to ensure any impacts are minimized to the extent possible. Don’t let hindsight become your operational downfall.

The Boy Scout motto is “be prepared” – a philosophy that has stuck with Secure Home Advisor’s founder Michael Lauer. From his early days in the Scouts to protecting high-level government officials, Michael has always felt a calling to help others.

Michael began his professional career as a federal police officer with the United States Capitol Police in Washington, DC. In this role, he was tasked with defending the United States Congress, including all its members, staff and facilities.

During his time in law enforcement, Michael held a top-secret Department of War security clearance and participated in many high-profile national events, including Presidential and foreign dignitary visits.

Michael is currently a member of the Howell Township Office of Emergency Management. In this role he provides tactical support to township first responders for a range of emergency situations. He is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University where he instructs active military members, law enforcement and corporate professionals about crisis communications response planning.

As a a lifelong resident of central New Jersey and graduate of Monmouth University, Michael built Secure Home Advisors to make New Jersey a safe place to work and live.
