The Boy Scout motto is “be prepared” – a philosophy that has stuck with Secure Home Advisor’s founder Michael Lauer. From his early days in the Scouts to protecting high-level government officials, Michael has always felt a calling to help others.

Michael began his professional career as a federal police officer with the United States Capitol Police in Washington, DC. In this role, he was tasked with defending the United States Congress, including all its members, staff, and facilities. 

Today, Michael is a member of the Howell Township Office of Emergency Management as well as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University where he instructs active military members, law enforcement and corporate professionals about crisis communications response planning. He is certified in Infrastructure Protection through Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
